about

NEW YORK

David Berridge Architect is an award-winning architecture and design practice, founded in May 2000. David received his architectural education at Parsons School of Design and shortly thereafter started his practice as a licensed architect in The State of New York. He now divides his time between Manhattan and Sag Harbor, Long Island. Accordingly, his designs feature a contemporary urban quality matched with a textural suburban charm.

Included in his practice is work for Blue Zees Real Estate where he is their architect for their development projects both in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

SAG HARBOR

Prior to starting his practice, David worked with the East End architect Fred Stelle, where he was the project architect for several award-winning house additions and for a large part of the ongoing work at The Ross School.

Since then his focus and passion has been with residential commissions in the Sag Harbor and other areas on the North and South Forks.

NEW ZEALAND

A native New Zealander, David spent a decade professional yacht racing worldwide before discovering the world of architecture. The hands-on approach he learned on the seas has translated to his architectural practice.

His direct involvement at all stages of the design and construction phases-- combined with a unique sensitivity to his clients’ needs--leads to well-constructed projects that highlight his elegant understated design sensibility at every scale.

This is reflected in a published house he has designed for himself and family at Otama Beach east of Auckland.
